Our program

our program philosophy

Our program is based on Christian principles. Our purpose is to demonstrate God’s love to the children and families through our interactions and programming. Biblical principles and teachings are adopted by staff in our daily activities as we believe that:
  • Each child has his or her unique needs, competencies, strengths, interests, and personality. This includes children who require extra support.

  • A high-quality child care program offers children, families, and staff a sense of community and connectivity, and creates circles of support.
  • Children learn from their environment and the people around them, which provides opportunities to grow, learn, and develop to their appropriate potential.

  • Partnership with parents is essential.

Active learning through play

Throughout each day the children will have opportunities for both free play and structured learning, group times and solitary activities, and activities that promote fine and gross motor development. Components of science, music, art, movement, and language literacy development are integrated into the program, as well as Bible stories and prayer time throughout the day. All children will be observed to determine areas of interest and the curriculum will reflect the children’s interest. We believe that active play is an extremely important part of a child’s early growth and development. Children will have opportunities to practice fundamental movement, social and lifelong skills as part of their indoor and outdoor daily routines.

Supervision & Guidance

We recognize the obligation to ensure the safety of all the children in the childcare facility, therefore staff will ensure that children are supervised by staff at all times. Staff play an important role in teaching, supporting and guiding children in positive, supportive, and age-appropriate ways. Positive and supportive guidance helps children as they learn self-regulation and find appropriate ways to express their wants, needs, views, and feelings. Guiding children is an ongoing process.

Parent Participation

We know that a child’s growth and development is enhanced when educators and parents work together, are well-informed about key child development milestones, and develop shared goals for the child. We encourage open communication to ask questions or make suggestions. We always welcome extra help in various areas of the program if parents wish to become more involved, such as sewing, gardening, painting, reading to the children, going on field trips, and sharing your talents and special traditions from your cultural background and diversity.
